Janakpur, birth place of Goddess Sita known as Janaki is consort of Lord Ram. According to the Ramayan, Ram Janaki temple in janakpur area belonged to the King Janak. Main Janaki temple is fully built in bright white unique style of classical and neo-classical design building with rich mithila style architectures. Time of Janak king ruled the area his daughter Janaki (Sita) during her swoyambhar chosen Lord Ram as her husband and became queen of Ayodhya. Dhanusa Dham about 18 kilometer far from main Janaki Temple is another pilgrimage site in Janakpur. Dhanushadham, a historical and religious site, dates back to the time of the great epic- Ramayana. It is located towards northeast of Janakpur in the south- central region of Nepal. Dhanushadham was the place where Lord Ram had broke Shiva's divine bow, a condition for winning the hand of Sita in marriage. According to the epic, one of the three pieces of the bow fell in the present day Dhanushadham. The place is a temple now created around the area and kept sacred. Dhanushdham enhances our faith against the evil. Janakpur is 225 kilometer towards southern region from Kathmandu and 20 kilomter near from India boarder.
