Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, one of our representatives will warmly welcome you. You’ll be escorted to your hotel in our private tourist vehicle.

After a breakfast, your sightseeing trip begins and takes you to several cultural sites and places of historic interest in the Kathmandu Valley. A private car and guide will lead the way!

The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla takes around 35 minutes, time enough to take in the spectacular views of the Himalayas. After landing at Tenzing-Hilary airport you will meet your porter who will carry your luggage. You then begin your journey with a relatively easy trek passing a Kani (ceremonial gatehouse) before the trail descends then leads above Kyangma village with its large gompa (monastery) and school. We then continue to Cheplung village where the trail passes through community forest within sight of the Dudh Koshi River. After crossing the suspension bridge you climb across the ridge to Ghat and then passes a school and complex of Mani walls, Chortens and prayer wheels. After a short walk from Ghat, we reach Phakding. Overnight at a mountain lodge. Breakfast, lunch & dinner Included.

We’ll have breakfast in Phakding before gearing up for the trek to Namche Bazaar, the biggest sherpa village in Nepal. Our trail takes us first over the Dudhkoshi River via a long suspension bridge, and then through a beautiful pine forest to Monjo, about two hours away. Soon thereafter, we will approach the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park for a brief permit check and then descend to Dudh Kosi River (spotting Mani stones along the way!) en route to Jorsale. Lunch will be served here, and then it’s uphill to Namche. Our path along the riverbank is flanked by two crossings, one of which is the Hillary Suspension Bridge. It’s a tough climb up the hill to our resting place, but you’ll be rewarded in Namche Bazaar with your first glimpse of Everest in its majesty.

We will begin to trek from Namche at nearly 7 AM in the morning. After walking for nearly 20 minutes, we will start seeing the mesmerizing Himalayas in front of our eyes. After walking for some time, we will get the first sight of Mt. Everest far ahead. We will walk further enjoying the beautiful scenery around. The trail is the same but diverges Sanasa. We will take a left at the forking trail and will continue our journey. We will trek over a steep hill towards Mong la. At the hilltop in Mong La, we will have lunch.
From there, we will descend down towards the village in Phortse Tanga for around 15 minutes. We will walk over the beautiful trail until we reach Dole. Dole is a small village with good views of the surroundings. Overnight at a lodge in Dole.

We will have a good breakfast in Dole and will start to trek at 7 AM. Today is a short and easy day. The trek route from Dole to Machhermo is fairly straightforward with gentle climbs. It is more like a rest day and also an acclimatization day. You will see the best views of Mt. Cho Oyu, the fifth-highest peak in the world. After reaching Macchermo, we will have our lunch. We can spend the rest of the day resting. Machhermo is a beautiful place. Overnight in a lodge at Macchermo.

From Macchermo, we will begin to trek at around 7 AM. We will trek through the easy and scenic trail from Macchermo to Gokyo Lake. Along the trail, you will get the best and clear views of Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Cholatse, and many other Himalayas. The Gokyo village is a small beautiful village that sits at the edge of one of the Gokyo lakes. There are a few lodges in the village where we will be staying overnight.

Hike up to Gokyo Ri and Trek to Namche Bazar
On this day, we will start early in the morning for the sunrise view. Gokyo Ri is the best viewpoint of the Gokyo lakes.
From Gokyo Ri, you will see the best view of Mt. Everest, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Pumori, Nuptse, and others. After viewing the sunrise, we will get back to the Gokyo village. From there, we will set off on the trekking trail towards Namche Bazar. Descending down through the downhill trail, we will walk to Dole. The trail is beautiful. It will take you nearly 5 hours to reach Dole. At Dole, we will have lunch. From there, we will trek back to Phortse Tenga following the downhill trail. From Phortse Tenga, the trail climbs up to Mong La Danda. Enjoy the mesmerizing Himalayan vistas from Mong La. From there, we will walk through splendid and easy downhills to Namche Bazaar.

This is our final day of trekking before returning to our starting point at Lukla. This is a time to reflect on the unforgettable memories of our trek as a group and our achieving our individual goals. A free afternoon allows you time to relax and enjoy a hot shower! In the evening we will celebrate with a few drinks and dance.. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included.

After our 14 day trek, we take an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. After arriving at Kathmandu, you can take a rest or do some shopping. This is also a time to catch up on visiting places you missed on arrival in Kathmandu. Our guides will continue to assist you with b souvenir shopping or sightseeing.

Your adventure comes to an end today – but your memories will last a lifetime! Our company representative will take you to the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. Where is Gokyo Lake located?
Gokyo Lakes are located in the Khumjung Village Development Committee of Solukhumbu District in the Sagarmatha Zone in north-eastern Nepal. Gokyo Cho, also called Dudh Pokhari, is the main lake with an area of 42.9 ha (106 acres), and the village of Gokyo lies on its eastern shore.
How many days is the Gokyo Lakes trek?
The short trek to the lakes of Gokyo is about 9 days. But the recommended trek duration is about 11 days if you want to rest for a couple of days in the Gokyo area. Another great way is to explore EBC and then head to Gokyo which takes about 15 days in total.
How do I get to Gokyo Lake?
Starting your trekking adventure after the Kathmandu to Lukla flight, you will trek on the enthralling mainstream route of the Everest Base Camp Trek all the way to Namche Bazaar. From Namche, you will move along the ascending route toward Gokyo Valley, passing Dole and Macchemro; you will reach Gokyo Lakes.
How high is the Gokyo Pass?
Gokyo Pass or Gokyo Peak is at a height of 5,357 m (17,575 ft) meters above sea level. Gokyo village is 4,750 m above sea level and the pass is about 500m above the village.
How many lakes are there in Gokyo?
Although only five bigger lakes in Gokyo are known among travelers, there are 19 water lake systems in the Gokyo trekking zone. All these lakes are spread randomly over an area of 196.2 ha (485 acres).
Can you see Everest from Gokyo Lakes?
Yes, you can see the Everest summit and other 8000M peaks including Makalu, ChoOyo, and Lhotse from the Gokyo Lakes viewpoint. With a little diversion, the Everest base camp with the Gokyo Lake trek is also possible on this journey.
What happens in case of an emergency?
Helicopter rescue is available in emergencies (covered by insurance). First aid and medical help are available in Namche Bazaar and Lukla.
